YOUR BROS (Bonds Rebuilding Our Systems) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. The information below explains how our website and programs work and the limits of what we provide.
OUR BROS is an educational and supportive organization. This website is not a substitute for emergency services. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, call 911. For mental-health crisis support, call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline), or call the NAMI HelpLine at 1-800-950-6264 or text "NAMI" to 741741.
All content, resources, and program materials provided by OUR BROS are for informational and educational purposes only. They are not intended as medical or mental-health diagnosis, treatment, or legal counsel. Always seek the advice of licensed professionals for your specific situation.
Submissions made through Carry This Truth and our contact form are stored securely and reviewed only by authorized OUR BROS personnel. However, no system is perfectly secure, and we may be required by law to disclose information in limited circumstances, such as imminent risk of harm, reports involving a minor, or a valid court order.
Because our work addresses sexual assault, abuse, and sex trafficking, certain OUR BROS staff and mentors may be mandated reporters under Connecticut law. This means they may be legally required to report suspected child abuse, neglect, or imminent danger to the appropriate authorities, even if shared in confidence.
Participating in OUR BROS programs, mentorship, or support groups — or submitting a story through Carry This Truth — does not create a professional counseling, therapist–client, or attorney–client relationship. Any direct contact you make with a therapist, counselor, or other licensed professional — whether referred by OUR BROS or otherwise — establishes its own separate client relationship and privileges that are outside the scope of OUR BROS and its client privileges.
Carry This Truth submissions can be made without a name. We do not collect contact information on that form. Your chosen identifier is stored with your submission, and your experience is shared publicly only if you select "OK to publish my truth." Otherwise it is reviewed by OUR BROS and kept private.
This website links to external organizations and resources, including Carry This Truth and crisis lines. OUR BROS does not control and is not responsible for the content, accuracy, or practices of those third parties. Links are provided for convenience and do not constitute an endorsement.
Participation in OUR BROS programs is voluntary. We do not guarantee any specific result, and outcomes vary based on individual circumstances and engagement.
This website discusses violence, sexual assault, sex trafficking, and trauma. Some content may be difficult to read or triggering. Please care for yourself as you engage, and reach out to a trusted support person or crisis resource if needed.
In immediate danger, call 911. For mental-health support, call or text 988, or reach the NAMI HelpLine at 1-800-950-6264 (text "NAMI" to 741741).
